How we live together

Community rituals

Co-creation

Our main joy in the coliving experience is the co-creation and collaboration. This invites all the residents to actively participate in the experience and support each other like a family.

We ask every resident and host to be open minded, kind, and to take responsibility for themselves and their contribution to the experience.

Weekly check-in

Led by your hosts at the beginning of each week. We gather in a circle (often with tea) for a short meditation and presence exercise. We then lead a workshop based on Non-Violent Communication, using a set of Needs Cards as a tool. This is an opportunity to check-in with ourselves, to see how we’re feeling and what are needs are.

By better identifying our needs and sharing with the group we will form deeper connections, intimacy and understanding within the house.

Activities ideas session

This ideas session will help inspire what we schedule in the calendar for the coming days or weeks. We then fill in what we can in the calendar, including who is cooking on what days.

Evening meals

Choose a day to cook for the house, then enjoy being cooked for the rest of the week! Shared meals create a communal family vibe and inspire tasting different cuisines/cultures. It’s fun, saves time, saves money and minimises food waste.

Weekend activities

We will co-organise local activities each week. These are often open to the wider SlowCo community. It could be a long hike, surf trip, sea kayaking, beach day, mountain biking, or a big BBQ and sunset dancing on the terrace.
